In a Smart City, more and more devices, whether mobile or fixed, will need to be connected to central systems for monitoring and control purposes. Most of these devices are connected via mobile data services. As such, large numbers mobile data SIM cards will need to be deployed in devices across large geographical spaces. Currently, mobile SIM cards are tied to their respective telco service provider (Data Provider). Once deployed, it is very difficult and costly for the provider of Smart service (Service Provider) to change their Data Provider. As such, Service Providers are always at a weaker position as far as price/agreement negotiation with Data Provider is concerned.
MagikSIM Service/Platform is the solution to the above issues for Service Providers. MagikSIM is not a mobile data service provider. MagikSIM Platform can send commands to special SIM cards (telco neutral SIM), that are installed in devices, at any time to change Data Provider without involving physical change of SIM cards. In addition to flexibility in changing Data Provider, Service Providers could sign up with multiple Data Providers at a time to provide redundancies to their services.
